Rediscovering Old Anstey – the Nook Yard Timber

As soon as we published the article on “Fire at Nook Yard, 1938” more information was sent in by several residents about the remains of the one of the larger demolished houses that used to stand by Nook Yard.

Liam Kelly, who used to live at 5 Highfield Street, Anstey, where the gardens back onto what is now the Nook Carpark, told us via the Old Anstey Photos Facebook Group: “there’s a wall just to the rear of my yard that contained timber from one of the large now demolished houses that stood there,  I was told it’s protected and cannot be removed.”
