After a severe storm, the Anstey community worked together to keep track of the impending floods. Cllr Melissa Hadfield, Flood Warden, was out in the torrential rain, in the dark, knocking on doors and checking everyone was okay. Others updated the Save Anstey Facebook Page, ran by Gareth Williams, with photos and news. The next day people were out with their cameras, taking note of where the flood waters rose to.
Below are the photos, as a record of the floods. They’re on the library website as a community resource – and are free to use and distribute (“not for profit” only and please cite the photographer) – just click on an image to expand and then right click again to download.
Photos of the flooding on 7th February 2016 can be added to this post at any time: please email them to BeckN@ansteylibrary.com.
