Century of Stories

Anstey’s 2nd Community Sharing Day – Video & Photos

Thank you to everyone who attended our Second Community Sharing Day on April 5th 2017

Century of Stories have made a film to commemorate the wonderful project in our library

Please see below for photos of the day, including artefacts that people brought along to share and preserve. An archive of alphabetised files containing information on every soldier on the village war memorial is now available in our Local History section, and an online version is planned.  A huge thank you goes out to Loughborough Local History Volunteers, who compiled all of the documents for us, as well as providing expert advice for visitors at each of our events.

We are also starting up a brand new Anstey Local History Society in September and we already have a mailing list of over 100 interested local people!

If you would like your name added to the list, or are interested in helping or giving a talk, please email BeckN@ansteylibrary.com.  You can alternatively leave a note or a phone message for Beck and Jane at the library with your phone number or contact address.
