On Saturday 21st May, we set up stalls of flowers, shrubs and vegetables in the Library Garden. All sale proceeds went towards keeping our library running. Children were invited to decorate a plant pot and pick a plant from the stalls to grow in it. The event was so successful we’re now looking at running regular seasonal gardening events – and our plants stalls will be back for Anstey’s Picnic in the Park on June 12th!
As always, a big thank you to all of our volunteers and Anstey residents who helped with putting together this event – who grew the plants from seeds, nurtured cuttings, made space in greenhouses for all of the baby plants, organised the tombola, donated plant pots and auction prizes and made sure the whole event ran smoothly. It really was a team effort. Also a thank you to everyone who helped, visited and supported on the day!
And some of the behind the scenes prep … (where our staff room became a garden centre 🙂 )
