Anstey residents take part in “Clean for the Queen” event

On Saturday March 5th 2016, two teams of volunteers took part in the “clean for the queen” event to improve Anstey village and highlight the problem of littering by targeting “grot spots.”  Speaking to volunteers involved, it was suggested that this could become a regular event for the village, helping to keep Anstey a clean and safe place to live.

  1. This is great to see people still care for our village. Although the problem of fly tipping is on the increase.
Croby lane (road) is a popular dumbing ground after the new estate for tyres TVs and building waste etc. The problem will only increase now Leicestershire council has added charges for certain waste at the tip.
